You need to rejoin to maintain your membership
At the meeting held on June 24th the proposal that the Avoch Amenities Association be dissolved and its assets and liabilities be transferred to a charitable company limited by guarantee and to authorize the Executive Committee to take all necessary steps to implement this Proposal was passed unopposed.
I attach the minutes of that meeting which includes very important information on the key features of the new structure and the objectives of the Association.
One of the steps essential to implementing the proposal is to establish a membership of the new company. This means we have to have new applications for membership from all those who wish to take part in future meetings of the Association. We are not able to simply transfer the current list because members have to indicate that they understand the membership conditions and are aware that the membership list has to be available for inspection by the public, if requested.
As a company only those registered as members can formally vote on company business (see explanation in minutes) e.g. decisions such as the future of buildings, property or tasks undertaken by the Association. So if you wish to maintain your voice on such matters you do need to register before the AGM in September.
I attach a membership application form with a description of voting and non voting categories. Please return it to C Dobson, Secretary, Avoch Amenities Association, 21 High Street, Avoch IV9 8PT. Alternatively forms will be available at the Gala on August 1st.
